Kirby chaired the meeting

1. Survey results. Our meeting time will remain 4:00 – 5:30 on Sundays. Several Committees were staffed, including Community Service & Outreach, Voter Registration/Education/Outreach, Actions/Events, and Candidates. All survey information is posted online at www.highpointdems.org

2. Further discussion centered on frequency of meetings. A motion was made by Lynn Dostal to change the meetings to every other Sunday, rather than 1st and 3rd Sundays. The motion was passed.

3. Sondra brought before the group an opportunity to help Nia with their fundraising, manning the concessions booths at the Greensboro Coliseum. It was suggested that we could help Nia initially, then fundraise for ourselves.

4. Lynn reported that our checking account has been established. We need $50 to buy checks. Our balance as of 2/19 was $45.00.

5. Precinct Organization. Several of us attended the organizational meeting Feb. 13 and several intend to attend the County Convention on April 1st. Kirby shared some resolutions from last year’s convention and suggested that we present some of our own this year.

6. Open discussion on ways to encourage grassroots participation. It was suggested that we look for a strong candidate for High Point Vice Chair next year.

7. Organizational Structure. We still need a vice-chair and treasurer.
